Fiction
There are different types of stories that can be written. There can be fiction, which is not based on a true story, but can spring from the depths of our imagination. When writing fiction stories, the writer must dig into their imaginations to make the story come alive.
You may choose from a variety of fiction categories:

Types of stories:
Non-Fiction
There is also non-fiction, which is not a made up story, but based on true events. Some types of non-fiction include biographies that are written about someone by another person. An autobiography is where the person writes about his or her own life. An essay is generally writte about a topic that is discussed in some way. It may be an analogy or a comparision-contrast type of essay. Non-fiction can also be writings that look like a novel, but are true. This is called Journalism. Written on actual news stories but in an interesting way as if you were reading a book. You may find these kinds of writings in a journal type magazine or an editorial in a newspaper.
