| Introduction |
| The ultimate evaluation to demonstrate skills learned is a performance evaluation. To accomplish this demonstration of skills you need to complete a final project in which you will create a lesson and a quiz from scratch using HyperStudio. |
| If you agree to take this challenge... follow these guidelines: |
To complete the final project you will need to: |
| 1. Decide on your topic or subject area. |
| 2. Research topic for information and images on topic if needed. |
| 3. Organize folders to store your content. |
| 4. Create a stack (set stack dimensions based on space needed for conent. |
| 5. Create a stack (set stack dimensions based on space needed for conent). |
| 6. Create new cards. |
| 7. Add background- import image or use paint tools. |
| 8. Add text object for textual information and graphic objects that go with the text if needed. |
| 9. Add sound to any object if needed. |
| 10. Add videos if needed. |
| 11. Add buttons for navigation to other cards. |
| 12. Use buttons or hyperlink text to go to an Internet address using a URL. |
| 13. Test all actions added and button navigation. Go through your stack and make sure everything works and goes where it is suppose to go. |

Creating Your Lesson |
| 1. Create a stack. |
| 2. Launch HyperStudio. |
| 3. Go to File>New Stack. |
| 4. Set dimensions for card size. |
| 5. Set preferences if needed. |
| 6. Make the first card your title card with the name of the lesson or project. |
| 7. Go to Edit>New Card to add more cards. |
| On each card you need to: |
1. Add a Background
- To add a background image go to File>Import a Background
- To add a solid color or paint a scene use the paint tools. Detach the Tools and Colors Palette for easy access to the paint tools.
- To navigate through the cards as you work on them, use the keyboard shortcut keys (Ctrl> to go forward through card order AND Ctrl< to go backwards in card order).

| 2. Add buttons so the student or other user can navigate through the lesson (stack). |
| 3. Add sound, video as needed. |
| 4. Add any graphic objects to enhance your textual information. |
| 5. Add text objects to put the textual information in. (type it in or you can copy/paste the text into the text object). |
| 6. Select text size for text as needed for the card space. You can resize text boxes as needed to arrange text and graphics on the card. |

Creating Your Quiz |
1. Create a stack for your quiz.
- Go to FileGo to File>
- Set card dimensions (this will depend on how much space you need for the question and answer choices. The default card size is 512x384).

| 2. Select a background image from the Backgrounds folder in the HyperStudio Media Library or make your own using the Paint Tools (solid color or paint a scene). |
| 3. Add more cards as needed. It is best to use the same card background throughout the quiz. |
| 4. Add text object for question and answer choices with multiple-choice format. Use a text object for the question and a button for true/false. |
| 5. Add sound to the button choices to indicate correct or incorrect. |
| 6. Add buttons to navigate to the next card. (For multiple-choice it is best to put one question and answer choices per card). |
| 7. Test out all sounds and navigation. (Make sure all buttons go to the correct "next" card and all sounds are indicate if the choice is correct or incorrect.). |

Important ! |
Feel free to go back and review any lessons, quizzes, or practice sessions. If you saved your practice sessions in a practice stack folder, you can easily go back and go through them again. You can always go back through any of the practice stacks again.
