Practice Session Instructions |

Download & save your practice stack to your desktop.
Open the Blabbermouth stack. |

Card One |
| Click Begin to start the practice stack. |
 |

| Card Two |
|
Click on the graphic objects on this card and listen to what each says using the Blabbermouth NBA.
If you click on the text object/box you will hear the computerized voice say the text in the box. |

| Card Three |
|
Listen to another way that you can use Blabbermouth. Click on the Rocket and hear the astronaut as they blast off. |

Card 4 |
|
| Add the NBA Blabbermouth to the graphic objects on this card. |
Select a graphic object you want to use. Click on the object to add Blabbermouth to that object.
Be sure you use the arrow tool to edit and the browse tool to test out any actions added. You also need to have the browse tool selected to click on the arrow to go to the next card. |

You can alsodouble-click on the graphic and the Actions box will appear.
(If you add a graphic then you will be able to go to Actions from the graphic appearance box). |

| Click on New Button Actions under Things to Do |
 |
| Select Blabbermouth from the NBA list on the left-hand side and click on the USE THIS NBA button. |
 |
Type in the text you want the graphic or object to say. Select the speed the voice will say the text, the pitch of the voice (higher or lower), and the type of voice.
There are many types of voices to choose from, male/female, all with different sounds. Click TRY IT! to hear how the text will sound. |

Tip!
If a word does not sound like it would when you actually say it, then use the creative spelling techniques to make the word come out as it should be pronounced. |

| Spell the word as it sounds not as it is actually spelled. (Review Creative Spelling Video) |

| Try It! |
|
| Click Try It! and see if you like the choices you made for SPEED, PITCH, and VOICES. When you are satisfied with your choices, click OK. Then click ok again on the NBA box. Click Done on the Actions box. |
| Click on the objects on your card 4 to see how your objects sound using blabbermouth. |

Practice adding the Quit NBA to a button. |

On card 5 you will practice adding the NBA Quit to a button.
You can add your own button or just click on one of the sample buttons on the card (with the arrow tool) and move it to where it says- put button here.
You can also right-click on the button and click copy, then go back and click paste. Drag the button to where you need it to be.

| To add a button, go to Objects>Add a Button |

| Right-click on the button. Click on ACTIONS |

OR Double-click on the button.
Then Click on Actions. |

| Select your button type |
|
| You can select from different types of buttons. Usually # 1-4 are most commonly used. Button type #5 will not show a border around the text or icon. |

| Click on New Button Actions |
 |
| Select the Quit NBA from the list. You do not have to type any instructions or words in the box. Then click OK |

| Next click DONE>> |
 |
| Test Actions Added |
|
You can test out if your new button actions have worked. Use
the browse/hand tool to test out the button. Before you click on the
Quit, Exit, or End button, be sure to save stack. You should be asked
to save the stack before you quit the stack. Be sure to click YES.
The stack will immediately close after you click yes to saving the stack. |

You have completed the practice session for adding the NBAs- Blabbermouth and Quit.
Be sure to save your stack in the practice stack folder before you click on the Quit button. |
